When we think about human productivity, we go straight forward to three main points : energy, efficiency and time
- Energy : this is how the person will use his energy plan during the day, to face these long hours of work, to save his energy for late tasks that are scheduled to be at the last hours of the day.
- Efficiency : all about the how the work will be done and the quality of work that the person will be able to provide and how his performance will be at every stage of the day.
- Time: this is a critical part of the process, how the person will need to schedule the tasks and how the person will manage to spread the energy during the day.
Human beings are not machines that you can run a script in their lives in order to keep the same level of performance and productivity and to schedule the same plan for them and that they will follow without any problem, we all know that everyone has his own life, his own plans, his own problems, each one of us will have to adapt the daily life at his own pace and make it productive and profitable as much as needed.
Also human productivity depends mainly on how the person’s behavior and on the person’s habits and the things that he or she used to do on daily basis, here are 5 things that we shouldn’t do in order to improve our productivity :
Get the snooze off, this is very important, gaining that more 5 or 10 min sleep after hitting the snooze will not help you get enough sleep and start your day with a big smile. The snooze hitting is the worst habit that destroys your day, because your morning mindset is the main pilot that will carry the whole day, so if you build it wrong, you can imagine how the rest of the day will be.
Social Media, as we all know, it became a usual thing to wake up and first thing first is to get your phone and check latest notifications, you start your day with an addiction that will get you distracted the whole day ( you check the notifications so you will respond to them, then you will wait for answers and news about them which is totally wrong), why not starting your day with old actions, get the newspaper and read, turn on the news on your radio or tv, get the new technology out of your sight.
Talking Negatively and talking with wrong people, every human being has an internal process that allows him to feed his brain and thoughts. Imagine that when you wake up, when you get in the car or public transportation, when you’re at the office or when you grab coffee or go shopping by the of the day, you meet only negative people and make negative conversations, you only weaken yourself, you really need to have as checklist of discussion that you don’t need to know about during your day, a checklist of people you need to avoid. the negative thoughts that you feed your mind will definitely destroy your productivity.
sleeping late!! of course, in order to wake up in a good shape, you will need to sleep well, having a good enough time to sleep is highly recommended. the duration needed depends on every person as it’s not a prescription from your doctor ( from 5 to 8 hours). staying late and missing night hours to get some rest is a bad habit, as you know the night hours will never be replaced even that you continue your nap till noon time, you won’t get up with high performance.
Also missing breakfast, this a point that our parents try to keep us doing but as kids we fight against it, we do not want to have breakfast, cause we’re sleepy persons we want to replace the breakfast time with a good 15 or 20 minute sleep, yeah we all have same thoughts !! but we are wrong, having a good, healthy and fresh breakfast is very very important, cause your entire energy will be gained at that moment.
