“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that”
–Martin Luther King, Jr.
1-You will never know how strong you are until you forgive someone who was not sorry, and accept an apology you never received.
2-They say forgive and forget, I will tell you that you will never forget, we never did and never will. Life gets hard, close people hurt us; these are things we will never forget. Nevertheless, these things will help us grow older. So in order to be more peaceful, I would rather say ‘forgive and let it go’;
3-Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling. You should decide to forgive others so your heart would not be full of hate. Life is too short to fill it with enmity.
4-Sometimes, it is not enough to forgive other. Sometimes, you have to forgive yourself. Instead of blaming yourself or others, learn that it is okay to look back at it once in a while to remind yourself what you learned. “Yes, the past can hurt, but the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.” Rafiki said to Simba
5- A chapter closed. A huge weight lifted. A chapter could not close until every last thing was sorted. Reach for gestures of kindness even if it is not reciprocated, and that’s okay. Your pursuit of inner peace will call a termination.
6-Always, remember that forgiveness equals peace. Whoever you are, and whatever they did to you, in good karma we trust. Always be kind.
